How much does this cost?

Click Fraud Network reports are 100% free! We're very pleased to be able to offer this click fraud detection and reporting solution for no charge, allowing anyone with a website to track click fraud, analyze the risk and quality of visitors through their site, submit monthly reports for credits and refunds, and identify visitors and domains that could be excluded to reduce the risk of click fraud.


Why setup ad click tracking?

Click Fraud Network reports shows you who is clicking on your ads, what country the clicks are originating from, how each visitor explored your site, what domain referred the visitors to your site, and how much risk each paid ad click visitor poses to your online campaigns. Improve your website return on investment, decrease low quality clicks, increase conversions in the content networks, and make more money on the web. You'll be guided through a simple sign-up process, which will require the addition of a code snippet. What is geo-targeting?

Geo-targeting enables targeting of your ads to specific countries and languages. For example, in Google Adwords - when you create a new AdWords campaign, you select the countries or regions and the language(s) for your ad. That campaign's ads will appear only to users who live in the those areas and who have selected one of those languages as their preference.


Not sure how to insert tracking code?

The TAGiQ page tag must be installed on the landing pages of your web site. targeted by your cost per click campaigns. For improved accuracy, this page tag should also be placed on the conversion page you define during the setup process. For optimum accuracy, place the page tag on as many pages throughout your web site. as possible.

Installing TAGiQ to your web site. requires that you have access to the html, asp, or php code that actually makes up your web site. If you are not comfortable with this process, or rely on a developer to make changes to your web site. for you, you should contact your developer to make these changes. Can I get assistance with setup?

Will my website's appearance or performance be affected by the Click Fraud Network's tracking code?

The appearance and performance of your website will never be affected by your use of the Click Fraud Network's tracking code - we do not place any images or text on your pages. Note: The performance of your pages will not be impacted, with the possible exception of the very first page-load after you have added the tracking code. This first pageview calls the JavaScript on the Click Fraud Network servers, which may take slightly longer than a regular page load and subsequent pageviews will use cached data and will not be affected.


How long does it take to see report data after adding the tracking code?

The Click Fraud Network updates your reports every 24 hours. This means that it could take 24 hours for data to appear in your reports after you have first installed the tracking code.


How does this work?

The Click Fraud Network uses a first-party cookie and JavaScript code to collect information about ad click visitors to assess the risk of your advertising campaigns. The Click Fraud Network anonymously tracks how visitors interact with a website, including where they came from, what they did on a site, and whether they completed any of the site's conversion goals. All of this information and analysis is presented in an easy-to-read format using intuitive, visual reports. The Click Fraud Network tracking codes won't affect the performance or the appearance of your website - there are no extra files to host on your website, and no image files are called by your pages. With information and analysis from the Click Fraud Network, you will be able to assess the risk of your online campaigns, mitigate those risks, and advertise in paid search and in the content networks more effectively.


Can I run the tracking codes along with other web analytics solutions?

Yes, feel free to run Click Fraud Network reporting in parallel with any third party or internal solution you've already deployed. You can run the Click Fraud Network reporting on a subset of pages or on a microsite to see how much the additional reports, information, and Click Fraud Network services reduce click fraud and waste from your online campaigns. If you find that it's successful for you, you can quickly and easily install it on the rest of your site.


Will the Click Fraud Network JavaScript code interfere with our website's code?

The Click Fraud Network's JavaScript code has been designed to be highly compatible with your website's existing JavaScript. The code should be placed immediately before the closing <body> tag of your page.


What is a website goal or conversion page?

A goal or conversion page is a website page which a visitor reaches once they have made a purchase or completed another desired action, such as a registration or download. Before the Click Fraud Network can calculate risk using conversion metrics, you must define one or more goals. The Click Fraud Network setup enables you to specify a page that can only be reached by achieving a goal. In the case of a registration goal, for example, the goal page might be the Thank You page. If your goal page can be reached by visitors who have not completed the goal, your conversion rates will be inflated.


What is an ad provider?

Ad providers are the companies you use to advertise your website on the Internet such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN.

Why are my reports empty?

The Click Fraud Network updates your reports every 24 hours. This means that it could take 24 hours for data to appear in your reports after you have first installed the tracking code. If it has been over 24 hours, contact us using the live help button and we will review your website's setup and tracking code installation.


How can I verify that I've properly setup my click ad tracking profiles?

Sign in and review your Click Fraud Network reports - if the reports are empty or look strange, contact us using live help and we can review your setup with you - at no charge!


Yahoo Overture Setup

The only thing you need to set up for Yahoo is the Tracking URLs feature. This will add the proper keyword identifiers into your destination URL's automatically. Simply log onto Overture, click on Tracking URLs under the Administration tab, click the "Tracking URLs on" radio button and click the "Save Changes" button.

 

Google Adwords Setup

To get the most out of your Click Fraud Network reports, there are two very important elements to configure in your Google Adwords account; Auto-tagging and Keyword Pass-through.

Auto-tagging

***  The first and most important element is to enable Auto-tagging. Your paid clicks will not be considered by our reports if they do not contain a Google Click Id provided by Auto-tagging.  ***

Keyword Pass-through

In order to track your click ad keywords, they must be included in your click ad's URL path. e.g.   www.yourdomain.com/products.htm?kw=tennis+balls

There are two methods to do so:

    1. Keyword Substitution - a method that takes advantage of Adword's keyword substitution feature.
    2. Keyword Specification - a method where you specify the campaign keywords manualy.
Keyword Substitution Method

This is the recommended method as it requires the least amount of work. Adwords will automatically substitute the {keyword} string you place in your destination URL with the actual keyword associated to the ad.

  1. Log onto AdWords, click on the campaign you wish to modify, select the AdGroup you wish to edit, then click on the "Keywords" located on the righ hand side of the page. You will see a list of all of the keywords purchased for that campaign.
  2. Select all the keywords by clicking the checkbox next to the word "Keyword" at the top left hand corner of the list of keywords.
  3. Click on the "Edit Keyword Settings" button.
  4. If the "Destination Url" text area is blank, then:
    1. type in URL that will specify were in your site the user will be taken when they click on your ad. So if your site domain is "www.yourdomain.com" and you want the user to land on your products page, the entry would look like so: www.yourdomain.com/products.htm.
    2. Add to the URL this exact text: ?kw={keyword} The completed URL should look like so: www.yourdomain.com/products.htm?kw={keyword} or www.yourdomain.com/?kw={keyword} if your home page is the desired landing page.
  5. If the "Destination Url" area is not blank and the URL already contains a ?, then add &kw={keyword} to the end of the URL string. e.g. www.yourdomain.com/products.htm?source=google&kw={keyword}
  6. A quick way to apply the URL string to all your keywords is to click on the small arrow near the URL text field for the first keyword row. All the URL text boxes below it will be populated with the current URL string.

Keyword Specification Method

The steps are the same as the keyword substitution method but instead of using Adwords' special {keyword} substitution string, you would manualy type in the the keyword for earch keyword row. e.g. www.yourdomain.com/products.htm?kw=Data+Mining
